John A Spencer, P.E.

Mr. Spencer has more than 36 years of engineering experience working in research, manufacturing and design roles primarily in the petrochemical industry. For 30 years Mr. Spencer worked at The Dow Chemical Company as research engineer, manufacturing engineer and process engineer in numerous chemical plant technologies. He has extensive experience in isocyanate, polyether glycol, ethylbenzene and styrene production processes. He has acted as the Lead Process Engineer for world scale ethylbenzene, styrene and polyisobutylene capital projects located in the United States and overseas. In May, 2005 Mr. Spencer retired from Dow and joined S&B Engineers and Constructors as a senior staff engineer where he worked on several refinery and petrochemical capital projects, two as lead process engineer. In August, 2008. Mr. Spencer was V. P. of Engineering for Terrabon, Inc. from 2009-2012. Mr. Spencer has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and has been a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas since 1998.

Mrs. Spencer has more than 24 years of engineering experience in research and development, and engineering.  Mrs. Spencer worked at The Dow Chemical Company for seventeen years in chlor-alkali, magnesium, phenol/acetone, and vinyl chloride technologies.  She also spent 6 years in the research engineering function where she supervised a group of process engineers and math modelers. Mrs. Spencer later joined S& B Engineers and Constructors working on projects for Conoco Phillips, Citgo, TPC and Tetra Technologies, Inc. In 2009 Mrs. Spencer joined Terrabon, Inc. as a Senior Process Specialist and later was promoted to Process Development Manager. Mrs. Spencer is skilled in both process and project engineering. Mrs. Spencer has followed multi-million dollar projects from conception through start-up. She has also performed process engineering activities that include process design, heat and material balances, PFD development, P&ID development, equipment specification, instrument specifications, safety evaluations, and process hazard reviews. She has experience gathering data in production units, pilot plants and in the laboratory for process optimization and/or scale up.  She is proficient with the following simulation software: Pro II, Protreat, UniSim Design, OLI and HYSYS. Mrs. Spencer holds a B. S. degree in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University.
